Lying

By Jessica Lari, Student

Lying is like an addiction
But lying is as pointless as it gets
Lying is like a dance
You can keep dancing if you can keep up with the steps
Lying is as complicated as a game
Sometimes you just don’t know how to play
Lying is like a way to manipulate someone
Lying is as addicting as a drug
And sometimes I have to lie
But I hate being lied to.

Homeless

By Jessica Lari, Student

Being homeless is like being helpless and worthless
Everyone looks at you and feels bad, but is too selfish to help you.
Being homeless is as uncomfortable as sitting on needles
But there’s nothing you can do about it
Being homeless is the worst thing that has ever happened to me
I’m afraid I’ll go through it again
Being homeless is as scary as being alone in the dark
Being homeless is like having nobody
I had no one there for me.
